i have a chevy malibu maxx and i am worried about the transmission?

When I accelerate it shifts fine but when I let off the gas for a moment and then step back on the gas the car revs for about 1 second and then kicks in again. I am do for a transmission flush. I just kind of want to know if this means it is already to late for my car or what?

Not typical behavior.
If you have reached the mileage milestone for changing the transmission fluid have that done as the first step.
