I have a 1992 corvette that will not start.The engine will turn over.Where

do I start to look for the problem? The car was my brothers and has been sitting for a while, covered and in a garage. It will turn over but will not fire. I am trying to save money. Are there things that I can check before I have to take it to a dealership. If so, what? Ill try anything. Thank you in advance for your help.

How long has it been sitting for?
Maybe the gas is stale.
That seems like one of the first things I would check.
Hopefully there is not much gas there, and you can pour in a bunch of new premium to mix.
Also check that there is not moisture in/around the ignition system.

Its spark, stale fuel will fire but will fire rough, Check also to make sure you are getting fuel to the engine you will need to diconnect the fuel line at the engine an turn on the engine if its equiped with an electric fuel pump. Also if it has an electric fuel pump turn on the key an hear if it runs if not there is the first trouble.
