i have a 06 Chevy Cobalt and has been shutting off on me at the most random times?

I just recently did a tuneup and it still has the same problem. I don't want to bring it to the dealership because they will fleece me for my money.What should i do next?

You can check the gas filter, it might be clogged so the gasoline can't reach. this will cost about $12 plus the handy-work.
It can also be the alternator repairing it will cost about $120
