Humming sound from rear end

My Malibu 2013 has a humming sound, sounds like it is from the road that needs to be paved but I went over a newly paved road and increased speed and still hear the humming, mechanic cannot find a thing wrong.

Anyone have this issue before? Thanks

He is sure it is not a rear wheel bearing?
Did he try swapping the front and rear tires to see if the sound is from a rear tire?
