Got kind of a tricky situation here. So, my truck is still on the original battery which started getting really low recently. I only use the truck about once a month and the other time it just sits. I am the second owner of the truck and I know that it was in two accidents before I got it. So, I went to start it up today and when I clicked the key fob, nothing happened. The battery is stone dead. So, I put the key in the door to open the lock and it didn't work! It wouldn't turn at all. I have another set of keys so I grabbed them and tried that but that key didn't work either. I know for sure that both keys work in the ignition. I have figured out that the driver door must have been replaced and they did not switch the lock cylinders over. Now I'm stuck with a dead battery and no way into the truck! If I could only pop the hood, I could charge the battery and use the key fob.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to either get into the passenger compartment without using the power lock release or get under the hood without using the hood release lever, please tell me!!!

You need an automotive lock smith to open the door for you.

If they only switched the driver door and didn't change over the cylinder lock then maybe the rear door or passenger side door will still use the old keys.

That would be my suggestion if I understand the post. Otherwise you'll need a locksmith or a good thief with a slim-jim.

Is there not a key hole in the passenger side door?

I once had to use a metal clothes hanger. I made a loop on one end. Stuck the clothes hanger into the window up on top. I was able to pull the window out of the weather stripping a bit and I put a pen in it to keep it wedged open. Then I just moved the hanger around till I was able to grab hold of the sliding door lock and unlocked it.
Yes you run the risk of breaking something :) but desperate times called for desperate measures.
Good luck:D
