I was involved in a car accident last week where I was rear-ended. I was at a complete stop. My car is a 2005 Chevy Cobalt Coupe LS. There is extensive damage to the rear bumper, it looks like it's going to fall off (it's smashed, unhinged and scraped badly). Most of the damage is on the right side of my car, but the rear bumper is unhinged a little on the left side as well. My trunk won't close, and the mirror of my side view mirror is missing as well as the back cover for it. Underneath the car, the back looks like an accordion and there is a long metal rod hanging down now with circular holes one after another. Also, the gas tank was where my car was hit.
What would you estimate the cost be?
I am hoping that they just total it out. I am dealing with an insurance adjuster and waiting for someone from American Family Insurance to come out and estimate the cost of the damage done..but until he can make it out here I was just wanting to get a rough estimate.
