700r4 behind it? The car is in a-1 shape and i want to do it right. I'm sure i'll need to beef things up for the upgrade in power. rear, tranny suspension, etc. but what has to happen so that small block can go in and drive first.
i'm really only putting in a v8 so i don't have to lay down the hammer everytime just to try and get on the freeway, I respect the car too much and spent to much time fixing it up to hot dog with it or beat the hell out of it.

Buy a wrecked V8 Camaro and use all the parts off it for the easiest and cheapest way (radiator, motor mounts, bellhousing, engine....).
There are books available to help you with the swap.
