how do you fix Code po122 on a 06 Chevy Cobalt?

that is a code for the throttle position sensor. You most likely just need your throttle body cleaned out. The throttle gets "clogged" with carbon and it throws the throttle position sensors off.
This is a common problem on those cars and you filling the tank was just a coincidence.
