A half a gallon of diesel fuel was accidentally poured into the SUV. I went to Auto Zone and bought a siphon pump to see if I could siphon the fuel out but that didn't work. I decided to go to the gas station to try and dilute the diesel fuel with gasoline. On the way there the engine started knocking and the SUV shut off. Had to walk to the gas station, pour a gallon of gasoline into a gas can, walk back, pour it into the SUV and continue onto the gas station. Seemed like the SUV was sort of working. Every time I stop at a red light the SUV would just shake. I got to the gas station pulled up next to the pump and the engine started knocking again. I shut off the SUV and poured 22 gallons of gasoline into the fuel tank. Everything seemed normal at first but then the problem started all over again. Will draining the fuel even matter at this point, should I take it to a mechanic, or do you have any other suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to read this and for submitting your answers.
