How do I stabilize the ride of my 1997 Chevy Suburban?

I have not driven many suburbans and just got my own. At 155000 miles I do not know if the shocks are bad or if all suburbans role side to side like this one. It just feels unsteady while driving. Could be the tires. Could be front end suspension. I would like to know how to progress through the options I have in the most inexpensive and effective way to try and make my suburban drive more like my pickup did.

I bought Reflex shocks off the internet and had someone put them in my 97 Burb. The truck now rides smoother than my Dad's Cadillac, steers better and pulls better.

I have a Suburban with new shocks and a Cadillac. The Cadi reigns supreme for ride control.
Your shocks and/or springs could be worn. You could try to add new sway bars. 'burbs have a high center of gravity and will sway side to side.
