How do I fix the CD player in my 2003 Chevy Malibu?

I just bought a used 2003 Chevy Malibu, and the CD player was broken. Whenever I put a CD in, it will eject it and pull it back in about four times, and when it ejects it the last time, the screen says "ERR." The radio is the most basic version that comes with the car. How can I fix it?
