How can I install a new sub to my Chevy Cobalt sound system?

I have a pioneer head unit. There is a sub infront and in the trunk. There is an amp under the car. If i want to hook up a new amp and sub is there any way I can use the preexisting wiring and any equipment for hooking up my amp and sub.
