your vehicle is good enough for what it's intended to do. Cavaliers are economical and an overall good handling vehicle. If you want a higher acceleration you will loose efficiency and probably reduce the life of your engine. One way to increase your acceleration is using a supercharger much like a turbo except that rather than using your vehicles gases to propel the compressor you use pulleys and belts. COST About 2300 for your vehicle. YOu CAN also USe a turbo kit Cost about 5200 for your vehicle. REsults for both will be good as far as acceleration but efficiency, to cost ratio would be just too high. Turbo charger would take less of a toll on your engine but the Turbo will destroy it eventually, because is not design to run with a Turbo. You see is good just the way it is. Besides is not a race car, is a commuting car. Even a BMW3 series is a commuting vehicle, sure it's got better acceleration than yours but when you compare cost wise you are way better off with your cavalier than the owner of the BMW3. Comparing apples to oranges but in the end they are both grapes they get to the wine one way or the other, basically get you from point A to point B that is if the BMW has 10% acceleration over your vehicle they will take off 10% burn 10% more fuel per distance etc....So do you think you still need to take off faster?
