...old chevy novas...? The bad thing is I don't remember the title of the movie and the actors are not well known except for the leading female role (don't know the name). I think it's an X movie since total nudity of the female is shown about the middle of the movie as she dances under a wooden water reservoir. The movie focuses on a chevy nova that races under stock class racing. The owner of the car died just recently and the car just sits under the deceased man's house where his father and widowed wife live. As the dad is too old to drive it.. a hitchhiker walking down the desert road meets them and tells them that he used to race stock class and could make them some money by racing. They believe him and let them bet the car against another car (driven by the antagonist) for pink slips. So it comes down to the hitch hiker lied about knowing how to race drag cars and loses the nova. So the rest of the movie focuses on building a new nova drag car (they painted it yellow) to try to get the car back. The widow becomes the hitch hiker's girl as the story progresses and she is afraid that he will die too as his ex-husband did, which does happen at the end of the movie where they race again to get the car back. The movie ends with the girl crying on a bed saying something about wishing upon a star.
