HELP! Front Gas Shocks

Hey guys... need a little help. We just replaced the front upper and lower control arms, ball joints and new gas shocks for front. Got everything back together and the shocks don't seem to be supporting the vehicle. Almost sitting on the tire! What did I do wrong?

the springs are what supports the vehicle
what year is the vehicle?
what manufacturer and part number are the shocks?
did you compare the old shocks to the new shocks to make sure the spring mounting pad was in the same location?
