i am about to put a new motor in my camaro and it has a 2.8l v6 in it right now and i want to put a 350 in it but it will take to much work/money so i guess i have to put a v6 back in it what would be the best v6 for my camaro i want one i can put a supercharger on and give it more horsepower i know i will not get as much as i would with the 350 but like i said to much work and will my 2.8l transmission fit a 3.4l or higher? any help would be nice
true yes it is a third gen Camaro do you think i would be better off going with a 3.4l v6 it will be cheeper i think i dont really care about alot of power i just driv the highway alot and would like a bit more power then what i have as of now so what do you think about a 3.4l and will my trans work with the 3.4l v6 or will i have to buy a new one?
i have a 305 with trans and all that good stuff and i have anything i need from its all in a 79 pontiac all tho i hear its going to be alot of work i hear the trans will not fit into the car but like i said i have a pontiac 79 it runs but it's not the best car so i could take that 305 out and put it in to my camaro i mean it might not be that much work i do have all the stuff i would need from the pontiac but not to sure how it would all fit in to a 89 camaro if you have done anything like this if you dont mind telling me how much money/time it would take that would be really nice

2.8L? So it's probably a third gen Camaro right?
Your not going to be able to fit much in there, without a bit of modification.
It's not that hard to drop a SBC V8 in there, and that's definitely your best bang for the buck.
I've seen a few turbo 2.8L's around here, but your going to be dumping 7000$ into a motor that you could outrun with a 3000$ 350.

If anything, I'd go with the 3.8L.
The 3.4 in the early fourth gen's was crap.
It will work, but you'll need to custom fab motor mounts, and run a PCM from a 3.8L F-body. Your transmission probably won't bolt up, or at the very least you'll need a new bellhousing.

Your best bet, is find a V8 third gen [82-92] in rough shape, swap the motor mounts, transmission etc.
You could even go with a 305 if your not too concerned with power.

Depending on what the 3.4/3.8L is out of, you may need to swap the oil pan and accessories as well
