I have an 07 suburban LT, with the stock stereo system (non-Bose) with XM. My tweeters in the pillars work and the rear speakers in the cargo pillars work but the door speakers are not working. Now I have custom headlights which have H1 style headlights. The H1 ground wire was shorting out due to a faulty wire cover and the stereo was doing the same thing with no sound. When I fixed the short in the headlights, the speakers started working again. Unfortunately, I had to replace the battery in the process because it took so long to diagnose I killed one of the cells in the battery. After I replaced the battery, I noticed the speakers are not working again. This makes me think there is another short somewhere. Problem is I can't seem to find anything. I have checked every fuse in the truck, short of the box fuses. I have rechecked the headlights that originally caused the problem twice over and they are fine. I rechecked my DVD headrest system since it is not a factory installed item and may have been defective but was found to be alright. I double checked my subwoofer and amplifier to make sure that is still wired properly and no issues there as well.
So has anyone else had issues with the stock stereo simply failing to work after a series of electrical problems and/or is there a stock amplifier for the non-bose stereo system that may have failed and needs to be replaced. I have searched all over the internet looking for answers to this but no dice. And I simply can't afford to bring it back to the dealership right now. Anyhelp would be appreciated.
