Insider's at GM are saying the Corvette won't make it past 2012, and all the R & D for the future models is quietly closing shop...why?
The division does not make any money as the product is an "image" maker, not a $$$ maker.
Come 2016, it would also have to have made 36MPG...unless it pork's out to 6000lbs(like the HUMMER), it's won't qualify for an exemption.
If you think this won't happen, 2 years ago, GM bankruptcy(now on the taxpayer's dime) also was an impossibility.
