Does anybody know WHY Chevrolet switched the flags on the Corvette emblem in 1983? I know that none of the 1983 models were put on the market, but from '53 to '82, the checkered flag was on the right and the red flag with the bowtie and fleur-de-lis was on the left, but on since '83 the flags have been switched so that the checkered flag is on the left and the other on the right. Does anybody know the reason, if there is one, for this change? I have no idea so i'm curious, maybe it was just more aesthetically pleasing.
Also, what is the significance of the lines under the fleur-de-lis? some years there are none, sometimes there are 3 lines under it, sometimes just 1.
