Cooling fan issue

The low coolant light is on my dash and the fan won't kick on it only starts to get warm when it's just idling any suggestions will help
 
did you check the coolant level in the bottle when completely cold?
if the coolant level is good, replace the sensor.
the fan doesnt kick on until temperatures of 215 to 225 or when a functioning AC system is turned on.
