Coolant Fluid Reservoir 93 Chevy Suburban...?

i just got this truck and was putting a little bit of coolant in the reservoir and noticed a hose coming off of the lid that wasn't connected to anything.. what is this for?

more than likely it either goes to radiator or its just a over flow hose really you should add to radiator when motor is cool and crank motor to check and top off then add to reservoir.. so look at hose again if its coming from top of jug it should go back to radiator for it to work the way it should

It's the overflow for the reservoir (holding tank) nothing to be concerned with.
