I have a 1986 Chevy Short Bed Silverado. I want to pretty much redo the whole truck. Are there any web sites or books that offer custom interior parts. Mainly door panels and seats with different color and material options? All I can find on my searches is OEM door panels. Also whats your opinion of the best engine for this truck, a SBC 383 or a 454 BBC? I want decent speed but decent fuel economy also

L M C Truck has a free catalog with all sorts of parts for trucks from 1948 to present. Personally I would go with the 383 small block.

go to LMC trucks and you can order a catalog just for that truck with all kinds of parts from front to end. i drive an 1982 chevy shortwide and thats where i get all my parts. i have a chevy 350 in mine and i'm happy with it.

Talk to a gm dealer or look in a gm part manual for the repacement carpet and such... if not, junk yards are a good place to look and cheap u might get lucky.

as for the engine. a built up 350 will give you some good power still have enough towing for a heavy load and will get aroun15-20 mpg. if u want some good old country power, alot of power and 1 bad ass truck, then i would go with a chevy 454 big block, I have a 1986 suburban and have built it from the ground up. interior body motor the whole 9. a 454 will make u feel great but i do get 10 mpg on premium, but i do 1/4 mile faster then a mustang gt. lol goodluck man
CHevy!
