I removed the fuel filter from my Silverado and attached a section of garden hose to the fuel supply line. My question is this.....When I cycle the fuel pump, should the fuel come out of the hose under a lot of pressure or should it just flow out in a steady stream? I have a steady stream but there doesn't seem to be much pressure.

The reason I ask this question is that a friend of my sons, a GM mechanic, supposedly replaced the pump for me a couple of months ago because it was difficult to start the truck. After he (changed the pump ?) there was no improvement, and now it won't start at all. I'm not so sure that he actually did anything at all and I'm trying to eliminate any other possibilities before putting another pump in it myself............I'm getting too old for this stuff. I retired three years ago and have never worked so hard in my life as I do now!

it should squirt out with pretty good pressure. If he did replace the fuel pump, either it is a bad one or there is something clogging your fuel pickup line in your tank...
