Okay...so I was given a 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and I love it...BUT it has more problems with it than I can afford to fix and I've had several Jeep mechanics work on it and the parts are not very durable, reliable, and built with the highest quality. So, I want to sell my Jeep AS-IS and pout a down payment on something newer.
Everyone is telling me GET A HONDA the parts last, you can drive it up to 300K miles before you even have to worry about fixing anything major. Same with Toyotas. However, I am not a Honda or Toyota fan. I like SUVs and I have a daughter so I feel safer in an SUV. I'd preferably like to have something with 4WD or something that has good traction in snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain, and mud.
I drove a Chevy Malibu for a wkend as a rental and I LOVED IT. It was a smooth ride, it was easy to handle, the gas mileage was better than my Jeep. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that it's a car and it's low to the ground. However, I want something that is fuel efficient, durable, reliable, dependable, not gonna cost me an arm and a leg to get maintanenced and can handle just about anything...
I live in Virginia so we have varying weather the months of Oct-April....What are your thoughts?
Honda Accord or CRV?
Toyota Highlander?
or Chevy Malibu?
I also want something that isn't gonna break my pocket as a single mom and college student as far as payments....
