I have a '98 Chevy Malibu. The issue is that the car is having trouble starting. Only the first start up of the day. It has been happening since the winter came. It starts up with no problems after the engine has been running for awhile.

What could be the problem and what is the most economical way I could fix this.
Thank you for your time and advice.

If the battery is weak, the engine cranking speed may be too slow. Does the cranking seem to be slower in cold weather? It may also have the wrong weight engine oil in it, but this is much less likely.
