Chevy Malibu trouble starting in winter?

I have a '98 Chevy Malibu. The issue is that the car is having trouble starting. Only the first start up of the day. It has been happening since the winter came. It starts up with no problems after the engine has been running for awhile.

What could be the problem and what is the most economical way I could fix this.

Be advised the first startup on a engine is the hardest of them all.
Same with mine or anyone elses engine, the first start in the morning is the hardest.
but 5 hours later when u go home n start the car it starts smoothly.. its alot
less on the engine since its alrdy been running and somewhat warm.
No problem here.

check the temperature sender and the cold start circuit/valve
