97 Chevy Malibu shakes when idle and the AC is on to the point where the car shuts off!
OK, I just had my water pump replaced. The car used to shake a little before when I was stopped at a red light or idle. It was worse when the AC in the car was on. It does not do it as bad when the car is in park. But now it is to the point that it is shaking so bad that the car actually turns off. It takes longer for it to turn off when the AC is off, but when it is in park it does not turn itself off. Does anyone have any idea what his could be. PLEASE HELP!!
Will this cause me to break down for good, or will I just have to crank it back up each time with no harm done. It also shuts off when I first start it and go in reverse
I replaced the water pump because it was over heating and smoking from under the hood. My distributor cap cracked and while it was being replaced the mechanic told me the water pump would go soon, and it did a few days later. Its a 4 cylinder engine so the timing chain runs the water pump. Thats why I was curious to see if while near the engine something was damaged.
