Chevy corvette ignition?

Hey i have a 1975 corvette stingray, and this is one of many questions i have. My ignition is getting iffy, there are times it wont turn over, the if i turn the key off and on real fast, multible times it will start....sometimes it takes awhile. Its just random times, almost seems like some wires are maybe havin issues connecting and gettin a spark..........Another quick question is my idle, When i start up the idle is super high and revving, then i give it a tap on the gas and the idle goes back down. Almost like the idle gets stuck..??

Idle sounds fine...is it fuel-injected or carbed?? If it's carbed, it sounds to me like the choke is engaging properly, because if so, you should be able to tap the throttle and have it release just like you say. As for the starting issue, replace the starter solenoid and you should be all set.
