chevy cobalt brake issue?

I had new brakes put on in January. I have been noticing (for about a month) some vibration when applying the brake going down a hill. Just last night there was a grinding noise when applying the brake for complete stops. What could this be?
yes, it was just the pads replaced and he did say something about the rotor having a "lip" in it. But, he turned those.

Some lower quality pads are just noisy, but if it's really bad, there might be some dirt/dust/crap on the brake pads/rotors. Either that or the rotors have begun to trench/warp (which would be odd if they were replaced in january) but maybe they just did the pads and not the rotors.

Lots of places out there do free brake inspections (at least where I live), so I would suggest getting them, or someone who knows what they're doing, to look at the brakes for 5 min.
