I am currently working on a off-road suspension for a 2006 GMC Sierra Single Cab Short Bed. I have had a hell of a time finding CAD data on the chassis for this vehicle. It doesn't seem like it exists anymore, even GM themselves couldn't give me the data because of the age of the vehicle. I used their gmupfitters page and 2015 was the latest model they have available. (yes, I asked about the 2006 anyway). I am curious if the frame of the 2015 RCSB would be a decent start to design a bed cage? I know there will be obvious differences (espesially in the front end. But for my application would a 2015 file do the trick? Or are the major dimensions vastly different?
I do not have direct access to the vehicle so modeling form scratch would take a tremndous amount of time. Does anyone know if the frames from the 2006 to the 2015 are similar?
