i Was wondering if i can clean the idle air control or do i have to replace it? it has 7100 miles but i get rough idle at stop signs and im sure its the idle. sometimes it stalls in reverse and change gears.
i would like to clean instead of buying a new one($150)plus install.
anything will help thanks

i would definitley try to clean it first

Buy some throttle plate cleaner spray fluid at the auto store. Remove the air intake duct from the intake manifold and clean both sides of the throttle plate and bore with a toothbrush, rag and the spray cleaner. Spray the cleaner inside the IAC valve as well and swish it around awhile. Then dump out the excess fluid. You might blow it out with some low pressure shop air too.
