Not sure if everyone knows this but you don't have to buy the factory extended warranty at the time you buy the truck. You can wait and shop around. Actually you can buy the GM Major Guard warranty from any dealer, even one not close to you over the phone with CC and VIN #. I would recommend calling several dealers and speaking to their finance dept and requesting quotes as there are differences in pricing. You will find that they will wheel and deal especially if you pit them against one another. My brother just bought a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6.0 engine 4WD crew cab with long bed. I was in charge of research for him and the best quotes I received in California were from Taft Chevy in Bakersfield. The 84mo/84,000 mile with 0 deductible was 1999.00 and with a $100 deductible was $1699.00. The 72mo/72,000mile warranty with 0 deductible was $1499.00 and with 100 deductible was $1299.00. The 72mo/90,000 mile warranty with 0 deductible was 1899.00 and with 100 deductible was 1599.00. I spoke with Berto at Taft Chevy (661)763-4206. Also Folsom Chevy- Mike Queen had some good deals: 866-935-8872. I hope this helps someone avoid overpaying for their extended warranty. Be prepared to negotiate and do your homework before you get cornered in the finance office. Demand that they match the prices you get over the phone and if not buy elsewhere. FYI: My research also found that the credit unions have good prices on non-factory warranties and loans which are a whole lot cheaper. Good luck! Karen
