beat up old corvette stingray worth buying?

ok so there is someone selling a corvette stringray it looks to be about a 76 but i did'nt have time to ask that the paint is horribly cracked and chipping everywhere the interior is worn out and ripped the speedometer is broke and as of now the carburetor is getting fixed so i suppose once bought it will run. it's a T top and really is a beautiful car it's just beat to hell and i would love to do the project it has about 80,000 miles and they are asking $4000 for it. seems like a steal to me or should it be going for a lot less?

if u really want to do the project id say buy it, but about the price id try ti bargin it down, mayb like 3000 or 3500 at least, 4000 with 80000 miles aint taht great

Well that's not bargain bottom price for the body style. On average that style goes for 7k in pretty good shape and a very nice one your looking at 10k. One thing to remember, the brakes on the 75 through 82 Vette's run about 1500 to completely rebuild. 4k is not such a good deal in my book but I haven't seen any pics. If the fiberglass is NOT cracked or damaged in any area and the front and rear bumpers are not damaged then 3k to 4k is average
