Hello All,
My name is Sonny Howard, and in the last 90 days my 06 Avalanche has been broken into twice, the second time they stole my tonneau covers. As a result of that I learned that there is nothing out there to prevent the tops from being stolen, and it is a huge market!!! Well, I am mad as hell and not going to take it any more! It is embarrassing how easy it is for theives to break into the tailgate lock and steal everything in back, and the tops, and be done in less than ONE minute! I am completing the final phases of a lock system easily retro-fitted onto the tops and tailgate that eliminates theft. I will say upfront that there is no sure way to stop a thief, if they want in they will get in eventually. But these are crimes of opportunity, done quickly and get out even quicker. My product removes the ability to do either, in fact they will have to destroy the top in order to get in, which defeats their purpose, which is get the tops!
