i have a 2003 chevy cavalier that i want to repaint the top, the clear coat is turning white in spots ,does anybody have any idea on what i have to do to prepare this top so as i can repaint ? any help would be appreciated

You are going to paint this car yourself? You would probably have to wet sand the surface prior to painting but matching the color exactly is probably best left to a professional.

i've painted cars before ,but never one that had clear coat over paint....just wanted to know what steps have to be performed , like do i have to sand down to bare metal or just sand the spots where the clear coat is white ? oh,by the way i've got the exact color in spray cans with clear coat..

You will have to determine how deep the spots go, would assume they are between clear coat and color but obviously cannt tell from here.
