anti theft

I've had problems for a while now with my cavalier starting. Its a 1997 2.2. We think its the anti theft system but aren't sure. Could it be the can shaft sender or crank sensor? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

is the anti theft light on?
do you have a check engine light on?
a crack sensor can start going bad without throwing a code
it can also be an ignition switch starting to go bad
