I'm looking at buying a truck, and one of the requirements is that I can put a double din DVD receiver in it. I found a 2012 Silverado LT extended cab pickup without the BOSE system and I need to know if I can put a stereo in it. According to crutchfield they say...
- The vehicle's subdash interferes with the harness and RCA connections of some double-DIN (4" tall) stereos. Check our product photos to make sure the stereo you're buying does not have wire harnesses or RCA connectors that plug into the top half of the back of the stereo.
- This package won't fit in fleet trucks or in trucks with A/C vents on each side of the factory radio.
Is this true? I've seen plenty of pics online of people with vents on the side of their stereo and they have stereos in it. Anyone have luck with this? What about the subdash interference?
