I accidentally dropped something into my middle AC vent. I took the adjustable part out to try and retrieve what I dropped, but I think it's pretty far down there.
If its a ferrous metal you can buy a magnet on a long telescoping rod, sort of like an antenna, auto parts stores carry them. Anything else and you are going to have to disassemble the system
