I recently replaced my left ABS sensor because it was defective. The repair was fairly simple and straight foreword or so I thought. After the repair was complete, the abs light came on and code reads " left abs missing". Not sure where I went wrong but does anyone have any suggestions? My vehicle is an 04 suburban with 113,000. The original problem was abs activation during a slow stoppage with no abs light on

there was a technical service bulletin out on your original low speed activation of ABS. Go to the www.nhtsa.gov site or check with a dealer.
Did you check the wire harness for a break or a bad connection at the sensor? Exactly what code are you getting?

The code was left wheel sensor missing. I will check the bulletin, thank you.

would need the actual code not the description.

Im not sure what the code was; however, I changed the wheel sensor and that corrected the problem. I think the first time I installed the part, it wasn't seated properly or maybe there was some debris in the hole. Either way, I removed the sensor, made sure the area was clean and reinstalled the part. I test drove the truck and the problem no longer exists.

Excellant, glad it was so simple.

I was thinking defective part.
I wish my '93 was so easy. I get an ABS light at around 5-10MPH and it stays on. I replaced the one on the trans already. Could be either the LH or RH sensor.
The whole brake caliper and rotor assembly has to come off. I have a 50% chance of getting it right the first time :)
