99 corvette or 08 mustang?

I had to make the same decision several months ago. I was looking at vettes a little newer, but ending up picking the new Mustang GT convertible. . Simply because of the seating arrangement. Having only 2 seats sucks unless your single and never want more than 1 passenger. My Mustang rides like its on rails and has a sh1tload of power. And I can take several people in it. Oh you cant really fairly compare a 2 seater and a 4 seater. Its like apples and oranges.
 
99 Corvette is faster. 350 horsepower and weighs 3100lbs

08 Mustang has 300 horsepower and weighs 3500lbs.

Power to weight ratio favors the Corvette.

The 08 Mustang is going to be more reliable and cheaper to repair.
 
I think the Corvette is faster because of the LS1 and for the reasons mentioned above, but I would get the 08 GT simply because it is much newer and a twin screw blower on top makes 450+ rwhp in a blink. I owned a 10 sec 99 GT that I drag raced for years and I absolutely loved the car. However, after going for a ride in an 08 C6 Corvette with the 6 speed auto and LS3, I have to have one.
 
Im not a corvette fan. I love almost everything Ford makes, so Id go with the mustang, but depending on which mustang for speed. You cant race a gt mustang with a corvette, maybe someting like ooh my favorite cobra.
 
depends what kinda mustang it is.

either way, id still get the corvette.
