Like John said.
Crank the engine over, when it doesn't start let go of the key leaving the ignition on. The 'theft' light will be flashing. Leave the key on until the 'theft' light stop's flashing and turns off. This can take 10-15 minutes so make sure the battery is good. When the light does go off. Turn the key off for 5 seconds then try to start it again. It should start!
This is the reset procedure. Sometimes, it may take more than 1 attempt at said procedure.
However, this is not a fix. It may leave you stranded again in the future. You will have to replace the ignition cylinder that the key go's into. The 'theft' sensor is a chip on the cylinder, not the key.
