When taking off from stop it makes a really loud grinding noise and if you let off the gas a little bit and then accelerate again it stops most of the time (after doing about 20mph). I think it might be the front wheel bearings but was hoping someone might know for sure

sounds like your front CV axles, the boot ripped and let all the grease go or the bearing in them is going out.

Try turning left to right when the noise is there. If the noise sound changes especially one way, it might well be a cv joint or bearing. It could also be a broken motot mount. Get someone to watch the engine with the hood up. Then with a heavy foot on the brake and the hand brake applied give the gas pedal a push and see if the engine jumps or raises up. Do this in forward low and then in reverse. If the engine jumps accessivly it could motor mount(s). Be be prepared to turn the key off if the throttle sticks! Be careful!
