Need to change my tranny fluid and filter, put a rebuilt trans in a few years back.

It seems like the crossmember is going to need to be loosened and pushed back to reach the back trans pan bolts, can anyone confirm or deny this?

Is yours a 4x4?

For a 2x4 my online manual shows that you don't have to loosen the crossmember.

It does recommend changing the trans gasket in addition to the filter while you've got it opened up.

PS I've heard some good reports about the new Dex VI fluid instead of going back to the III.

Also make sure your trans is warmed up so the fluid drains well.

The crossmember shouldn't interfere. I replaced my Seville's fluid with Dex VI, but it's expensive!

I did it on my 03 burb. Its not 4x4. Was able to just drop the pan. Mine actually has a drain bolt BUT I somehow managed to strip it trying to loosen it so I undid all the pan bolts. Did not have to remove the crossmember
