Being new to the site, I have had no luck with reply's to about three(3) posts I have listed. I was surprised that after over 600 people have read them ,not the first reply, much different than othe forum's I've been involved with
My main concern is about programing the keyless remote control. I just purchased a one owner 1999 Tahoe 4 dr, smokeless and very clean The owner had lost the key fobs so I went to the local Chevy dealer and purchased one. When it would not program from the instructions in the Owners manual, I asked the Service Dept.for help. I could see in just a few short minutes he knew not much more than the owner manual had already told me. He as well told me ther would be a $89.00 diagnosis fee to go any futher, and it may require removing the dash and start replacing parts, all of which I am not about to do...UPDATE/UPDATE/UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I searched the Internet and got a lot of different opinions, all the way to throwing away the remote and buying an A/Market. I figured I could do it, so I got one of the wifes BOBBIEPINS, found the plug directly under the steering column, instructions said place on PIN 4 to PIN 8 (which is counting the top row left to right. Immediately the LOCKS will LOCK/UNLOCK, GOING IN THE PROGRAM MODE. Take the REMOTE and HOLD BOTH LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTONS FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL THE LOCKS LOCK/UNLOCK AGAIN, REMOCE THE BOBBIEPIN, your done.
I am assuming since I got no reply's from this site on the correct procedure, no one actually knew as I didn't either. This is the way we HELP each other on the RV Forum I have been involved with for close to 5 years. Come on people , let's all try and help out. It's so disappointing to post and Ad and get absolutely no replys.
David...........PS would like to hear from you.
