Adapter??? A 700R4 or a 200 4R will basically bolt in. The 700 will require some more work, but both give a lower first gear ratio and 4th gear over drive ratio. Cross member needs to be replaced and drive shaft shortened. Transmission will bolt to the engine without an adapter.
No problem, I was thinking of doing the same. Have a 72 Chevelle with a 250. Just picked up a 700R4 and 3.73 12 bolt. May run it until a V8 can be built.
