I own a 2008 avalanche and had a oil pump failure at 13,000 miles. I shut the engine down as soon as I could and had it towed to a dealership where it was repaired. Approximately 6,000 miles later the oil sending unit went out and again was towed to a dealer and repaired. The other day at 29,000 miles I heard a loud lifter noise and took it in to the dealership under warranty repair. I explained to the Service Writer at the dealership about the previous incidents. He later called me and told me that the lifter was damaged as well as the camshaft. I proceeded to ask him if the Tech had checked the crankshaft and bearings and that if he hadn't I would like them checked for further damage. He told me the Tech had it torn down but had not yet advised him of further damage. I am sick about the situation because I like my avalanche. I have a problem trusting the engine after repair. Am I out of line to call tomorrow to ask the Service Writer to put a new block or engine in my 08 avalanche?
