400 small block power questions

[HEAVY CHEVY 1995]

hey im new to this form. i have a single cab 1995 k1500 chevy with a 400 sb with th350 and 4.11 gears with a 650 elderbrock carb. like it fells like it has no speed at all you punch it and slowly gains speed idk what is up any suggestions?

get a bigger exhaust... but even with the 5.3L when you floor it it'll take a sec before it really starts hauling, but after the 1st 2 gears it'll lag a little...

check timing, do you have a stock fuel pump or is it a after market.sound like the timing is out. maybe get a bigger coil go to HEI and a super coil like MSD or ACCELL.

Does the engine responed when you hit the carb when in park. it could be the trans is going out. the gears maybe to low or high for your truck.
