I have a 1985 chevy k10 with a 350 in it, I recently had a friend install a new four barrel carb along with some other transmission related things at the same time. Before, the truck ran great, started up great and idled beautifully. Right when I got the truck back it was running great but shortly after, I’d say a few weeks, it was a pain to get it started and it would not idle. When I am able to get it started it smoke like a chimney. Not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated, thank you.

What does your friend the mechanic think?
What carburetor did he install?
Did he adjust the idle speed and mixture screws?
Did you look to see if any vacuum hoses came off?
