2020 or 2022Malibu SS?

Yesterday I saw what I believe was a Chevy Malibu SS parked on the street. It didn’t have any model ID. The only identifying item was “SS” on the back passenger side. It looked new, as if it were a2020 or 2021.
I can’t find any info on it. Has anyone any detail?

The only Malibu Chevrolet is making in this decade is a 4 door sedan with a 4 cylinder engine. They do not make new SS models.
