2018 Traverse Park assist, stuck in park?

Picking up my son from school, I throw my car in park and sit for a bit. When I go to shift to drive, the park assist notifications pops up and the car won't move. Thinking I accidentally put the parking brake on I shift to park and switch of the parking brake but nothing happens. I do everything to get it out and about an hour in I turn off the car completely and sit for about 10 min. The park releases and I'm free to go. I took it to the dealer and they said it sounds like a battery issue so I pay for a new battery but today the issue happend again but I was in drive. I came to a stop (once again in parent pick up) my son hopped in and I take my foot off the brake and press the gas and it shuts down like it's going into auto stop and sets the parking brake. I turn off my car completely wait for the red indicator park sign to go off and then I'm able to take off.

Take it back to the dealer. They have to run diagnostics on the system.
